Artist Residencies
The Foundation provides critical sanctuary and studio space for contemporary creators through our residency programs.
Our Residencies
The Mooney Foundation hosts international artists through 3-month residencies that provide accommodations and studio space at the Foundation's 5 story loft in Chicago's River North neighborhood, assistance with travel and visa-related legal fees, and a modest stipend for personal expenses and art supplies. The residencies typically culminate with an exhibition in our International Currents gallery.

Artists @ Risk
Since 2022, the Foundation’s Art Bridge Fellowships have supported “At-Risk” artists from war-torn countries, including 16 Ukrainian artists and one Palestinian artist from the West Bank.
In addition to on-site opportunities for exhibition and artistic development, the program aims to support its artists, following the end of their residence in future endeavors, making new opportunities available to them as John David Mooney Foundation alumni.
